Bosch Performance Line Speed System 2 (73 Nm)
The Bosch Performance Line Speed System 2 motor was designed for Class 3 e-bikes, offering pedal-assist up to 28 mph (45 km/h) with a rated continuous output of 250W and peak power around 500–600W. It delivered a maximum torque of 73 Nm, providing strong but smooth acceleration ideal for urban commuting and long-distance rides. Known for its natural ride feel, it featured Bosch’s 3-sensor system that measured cadence, pedal force, and speed over 1,000 times per second to ensure responsive support. The Gen2 motor was compatible with both derailleur and hub gear systems, included gear shift detection for improved drivetrain longevity, and weighed approximately 6.3 lbs (2.9 kg). Though later versions increased torque, this original Gen2 unit struck a balance between power, efficiency, and reliability for speed pedelec riders.
Bosch PowerTube 500Wh System 2
The Bosch System 2 PowerTube 500Wh is a sleek, frame-integrated lithium-ion battery designed for e-bikes using Bosch’s second-generation motor systems, such as the Active Line and Performance Line. With a capacity of 500 watt-hours, it delivers reliable range—typically between 30 to 90 miles depending on terrain, rider weight, and assist level—and can be mounted vertically or horizontally for flexible bike design. It charges fully in about 4.5 hours with a standard Bosch charger and features robust safety mechanisms, including deep discharge protection and intelligent battery management. Ideal for urban commuters and weekend adventurers alike, it balances power, aesthetics, and durability in one compact unit.
Bosch Purion System 2
The Bosch System 2 Purion display is a compact, minimalist control unit designed for e-bikes using Bosch’s second-generation motor systems. Mounted on the left handlebar, it combines display and control functions in one streamlined interface, allowing riders to toggle between five assist modes (Off, Eco, Tour, Sport, Turbo) using simple "+" and "–" buttons. It shows key ride data like speed, battery level, trip distance, and range, all on a backlit screen that’s easy to read even in sunlight. Purion also includes a walk-assist feature for pushing the bike uphill and is built for durability and intuitive use, making it ideal for riders who prefer a clean cockpit without sacrificing functionality.
